Who Is James Burk ATF?
This case was given to one of the special agents from ATF named, James Burk. This case was to be solved by him to check whether the complaint was, is true or not. Since he tried to violate the rules and orders of the department, actions were taken against him for not actually following the orders. Burk was then searched and arrested for the same reason. He didn’t even try to do his job as allotted. This whole incident took place on the 7th of July. In Columbia, police officers arrested James as he refused to follow the orders from high commands. In order to get him arrested he was first given a shock to freeze him for an instance then was taken under police custody. Since then he is behind bars till now.
Why Was James Burk ATF Arrested?
In defense of his action, Burk said he has done nothing wrong and was just doing his usual job when he was arrested out of nothing. But the law and order doesn’t believe in statements from the prosecution but believes in what eyewitnesses saw or footage, recordings say. As it was crystal clear he was in casual clothing while searching for the gun as directed by his officials. He was there to find an illegal shotgun and could’ve found that too but it won’t be considered him as completing his duties since he was not in his uniform as an ATF agent. Even when he was asked to show his identity card by another officer who reached there at the time of this incident, Burk denied it and didn’t show him his ID proof. Burd didn’t even kneel down on the ground when he was asked to do so.
James Burk ATF Arrested Reason Explained
He was then arrested by 2 of the officers that arrived at the place of the incident by then. Then, investigation was done along with interrogation from the woman who called for help to officers as Burk entered in her house all of sudden without even having a search warrant. Before this incident, he was charged for secretly stealing wine from some store. He blamed the officers for arresting him by interrupting him while doing his job. Though he was charged for not showing the ID when asked for and entering into someone’s private property without a search warrent. He was also warned about not wearing his uniform during duty hours.
